New EU Sanctions Target Russia's Energy and Military Sectors

The European Union has reached an agreement on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, according to unofficial sources from the Polish Press Agency.

This latest package includes several key measures:

  • Nord Stream-linked companies: Sanctions will target companies associated with the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

  • Russian Banks: Additional Russian banks will be included in the sanctions.

  • "Shadow Fleet" vessels: Ships identified as part of Russia's "shadow fleet" will also be subject to sanctions.

  • Export Ban: A ban on the export of products critical for the development of the Russian arms industry will be implemented.

  • Oil Price Cap: A new oil price cap will be introduced, set at 15% below the average market price of crude oil from the previous three months.

This agreement, reached in Brussels, aims to further increase pressure on Russia.
