Massive Drone Attack Hits Odesa, Causes Casualties and Damage

Odesa, Ukraine – A large-scale drone attack struck the city of Odesa on Saturday, July 19, 2025, resulting in one fatality and several injuries, according to local authorities. The assault caused significant damage to residential areas, including a high-rise building that caught fire.

The initial explosion was reported shortly after midnight, at 00:21 local time. This was followed by a series of blasts and a sustained wave of drone activity targeting Odesa and its surrounding region until approximately 00:50. The air raid alert for Odesa Oblast was finally lifted at 00:53.

Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov and Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration, confirmed that over 20 enemy drones approached the city from multiple directions during the attack. Emergency services were immediately deployed to address the consequences of the assault and assist those affected.
