Massive Video Game Piracy Ring Dismantled by FBI Atlanta

The FBI Atlanta Field Office has successfully seized and dismantled several prominent online criminal marketplaces that were distributing pirated video games. These websites had been operational for more than four years, providing pirated versions of highly anticipated games even before their official release dates.

Between February 28, 2025, and May 28, 2025, these illicit sites facilitated a staggering 3.2 million downloads, leading to an estimated loss of $170 million for the video game industry.

As a result of this action, the FBI obtained authorization to seize the domains of multiple websites, including:

  • nswdl.com

  • game-2u.com

  • bigngame.com

  • ps4pkg.com

  • ps4pkg.net

  • mgnetu.com

Visitors attempting to access these sites will now be redirected to a seizure banner indicating that federal authorities have taken control of the domain. The FBI acknowledged the valuable assistance of the Dutch FIOD in this investigation.

You can find more details about this operation on the FBI Atlanta Field Office News page.
