On June 10, as a result of another missile strike, Russia caused damage to cultural heritage and infrastructure sites.
In Kyiv, a blast wave damaged the plastered cornice of the central apse of the eastern facade of the 11th-century architectural monument of St. Sophia Cathedral, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Specialists of the reserve, together with the investigative and operational group of the Shevchenko Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv, conducted a visual inspection and recorded the condition of the site. Fortunately, the interior of the site was not damaged. However, any vibration loads caused by explosions can pose a threat to the integrity of the structures of the site, which is constantly in a zone of increased risk due to regular massive enemy attacks on the capital of Ukraine.
The Odesa Film Studio was also hit - one of the oldest cinematographic centers in Europe, a symbol of Ukrainian cinema. Production buildings, warehouses with costumes and props, historical scenery, technical vehicles were damaged. The scenery for the national film "Dovzhenko", dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian director, was completely destroyed.
The fire was extinguished thanks to the prompt actions of the security forces, and most of the unique artifacts were saved. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the workers. At the same time, the civilian infrastructure of Odessa was also damaged: residential buildings, medical institutions. One of the employees of the film studio lost his own home that night.
